Anna Netrebko

Anna Netrebko is one of the most gifted opera singers of our time. Her lyrical and dramatic soprano is admired by millions of fans, and her superbly performed roles encourage even those who are completely indifferent to this genre of art to listen.

Childhood and teenage years

The future prima was born in September 1971 in Krasnodar. Her parents were simple people, they were very fond of singing, but did it unprofessionally. Ana liked music herself. At first the little girl organized small concerts for members of her family, then became a member of the ensemble "Kuban Pioneer". Becoming its soloist, she traveled with the group many cities of the USSR. In addition, she practiced sports and was fond of drawing.

After graduating from school, the girl entered the Leningrad Music School, then continued to study at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where she studied under Tamara Novichenko, a brilliant vocal teacher. Money for life in the big city was disastrously lacking, so the future opera star worked part-time at the Mariinsky Theater - cleaning the premises, dreaming that someday she would go on its stage.

At the height of her fame

While in her fourth year of study, Anna Netrebko won the Glinka All-Russian Vocal Competition. This event was of great importance in the singer's creative biography. Among those present at the competition was the Mariinsky Theatre's Artistic Director Valery Georgiev. Impressed by the unique timbre of the girl's voice, he invited her to join him and after two or three rehearsals entrusted her with the role of Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. The dream came true: yesterday's cleaning lady took to the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre and became a real discovery of the year.

After such a successful debut, Anna Netrebko was constantly involved in productions and performed leading roles in the most famous operas. Among her works are roles in:

• "Ruslan and Lyudmila";
• "The Tsar's Bride";
• "The Barber of Seville";
• "Rigoletto" and others.

All of her performances have been a great success. Together with the Mariinsky Theatre Company, the singer has traveled to Latvia, Israel, the USA and European countries.

One of the landmark events noted in Netrebko's autobiography was the performance of War and Peace staged at the Metropolitan Opera in 2002. After this performance, Anna went from being a well-known singer, Russian by nationality, to a world star, a prima donna, one of the most outstanding in her genre. The ensuing production of Don Giovanni, presented at the Salzburg Festival, only increased her popularity. One after another albums with recordings of the best roles of the opera diva contributed to this.

In 2006, the singer decided to change her place of residence and applied to the Austrian government for citizenship. The desire of the world celebrity was satisfied, and Netrebko moved to a new place of residence. Staying in Austria, the singer continued to perform on the best stages of Europe, often came to Russia, whose citizenship she also retained.

In 2011, Anna Netrebko topped the top 10 Russian personalities known to the world (according to Forbes magazine). The singer's income at the time was about $3.75 million. A few years earlier, Time magazine included her in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Personal life

Happy singer and in her personal life. Her husband is the Azerbaijani tenor Yusif Eyvazov. In his person Netrebko found both true love and a partner on stage. The couple have no children in common. But Yusif managed to become a good father to Anna's son Tiago.
