Antityla

"Antibodies" is one of the most famous Ukrainian pop-rock bands with post-punk elements. For 15 years of its creative activity it managed to go from concerts in small halls to performances in stadiums of thousands and released seven albums. Antibodies" owes its name to a song with deep philosophical undertones, which frontman Taras Topolya performed in 2004 in one of the capital's clubs.

Beginning of creative activity and formation of the band

In 2007 the collective took part in the TV project "Chance". Unlike many participants, they did not try to re-sing a popular hit, but performed a composition of their own composition "I will not forget the first night". They did not manage to win, but the guys were able to make themselves known to the public, gain the support of fans and start a difficult path to the big stage.

Officially, the history of the band's creation dates back to 2008. That's when the reboot took place and active work on the new sound began. Changes in the composition of the team took place repeatedly. Taras Topolya remains the unchanged leader of the band, lead singer and author of most songs.

• Sergey Vusyk (keyboards and arrangement);
• Dmitry Vodovozov (drums);
• Dmytro Zholud (guitar).

The band sings in Ukrainian, Russian and English. For 15 years the musicians have released 7 albums. The last one called MLNL was released in 2022.

Compositions of the group "Antibodies" repeatedly occupied the first lines in the hit parades. The lyrics of the songs "BuduVudu", "Catch the Moment", "Virila" are known to thousands of rock music fans in Ukraine and abroad. The band has several dozens of music videos, soundtracks to movies and TV series, successful tours. The band even set a national record by playing concerts in the largest number of cities within one tour.

"Antibodies" today

Its corrections to the creative biography of the group made war, which began in Ukraine in 2022. Antibodies" members could not stay aside from what was happening. Two of them engaged in volunteer activities. Three artists, including the lead singer of "Antibodies" Taras Topolya, became paramedics of one of the territorial defense battalions.

The singers did not give up music. In February 2023, they performed at a popular festival in Italy, singing the song "Fortetsya Bakhmut". It is about the hottest point on the front, the true heroism of the Ukrainian people in the fight for the freedom of their homeland.

No less bright work in the collective's creative bank was a joint composition, which was recorded by the star singer Ed Sheeran and "Antibodies". The basis of the lyrics in the song 2step were personal memories of Topoli about the first day of the war. Sheeran called the lyrics absolutely incredible.

It's hard to imagine what difficulties the musicians faced, recording the composition and shooting the video literally in military conditions. But everything worked out. Within a day the composition was listened to more than 50 million times. Monetization proceeds from 2step go to a specialized fund for the purchase of medical equipment, hygiene products and drinking water.

Another activity Topolya is engaged in is interviews with foreign media. In 2 months there were about 100 of them. The musician considers them, as well as songs, an important tool of propaganda, so he continues to tell and explain. And the band will still have concerts. Later, but they will definitely be.
