The real name of the performer is Maria. The girl was born in the picturesque city of Lviv, Ukraine. Her parents were creative people: mother - theater director, father - a famous composer. He did everything to make his daughter became a singer.

The girl was interested in music from the very early childhood, first with the help of her father she learned to play the piano, then she mastered the guitar perfectly. Studying at school, she attended the theater club, constantly went on tour with other guys, sang, accompanying herself.

Having received secondary education, the girl tried to enter the Shchukin theater school, but she did not succeed, because the teachers categorically did not like her Ukrainian speech. The future star had to return home to her parents and start working as a backup singer.

First successes

Varum made the first steps on the way to her solo career in 1990. By that time she became Angelica, having considered her former name not quite suitable for the stage. The first song, with which Varum took to conquer the domestic stage, was "Midnight Cowboy". The composition is very much liked by the public. And a year later, Angelica presented listeners with her first album called "Good Bye, My Boy".

Overwhelmed by success, the singer goes to work in the Pugacheva Song Theater and at the same time continues to please the public with her new compositions. Soon the second disk of the artist "La-la-fa" is released, which gave listeners several wonderful hits. The song, which gave the name to the whole album, is still considered one of the best works of Varum.

The same can be said about the song "Artist that paints the rain". It became an absolute hit, and the video clip filmed for this composition was awarded the "Ovation" award.

Huge popularity brought the singer and the song "Gorodok", also included in this album. For a long time she was the screensaver for the TV program of the same name, which was led by Yuri Stoyanov and Ilya Oleynikov.
