Dan Balan is a Moldovan singer, whose name is well known far beyond the borders of the country, musician, producer. The founder of the popular O-Zone group in the 2000s. The first and only performer from Moldova to be awarded a Grammy Award.
Childhood
The future artist was born in Chisinau. Date of birth – February 6, 1979. My parents were extremely busy people: my father worked in the political field, my mother worked on TV. Until the age of 3, the boy lived in the village, and his grandmother took care of his upbringing. Then he returned to the city again. The boy constantly visited his mother at work, where he began to get closely acquainted with show business. At the age of 4, he participated in his first TV show.
At the age of 11, the guy was given an accordion, and then enrolled in a music school to develop his talent. The parents, who gave their son a career as a lawyer, took education seriously: the young man studied at the best Moldovan lyceums.
In 1994, my father was appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Israel. So the family changed their place of residence. In Israel, the future singer spent a year and a half studying foreign languages.
Then he came home and, on his father's recommendation, went to study law. But my soul was drawn to music. Studies faded into the background, and soon Dan Balan completely abandoned it, deciding to devote his life to creativity.
The first steps in show business
The young musician organized his first band "Emperor" while still a schoolboy. The guys performed in an underground style. The project was a kind of experiment and did not last long.
Then Dan Balan created the band Inferialis, which performed heavy music. Soon he got tired of her and switched to the pop genre.
In 1999, Dan Balan created the band O-Zone. At first, there were only 2 participants in it: Dan and his friend from the previous band, Peter. But after the release of the debut album, which was a fantastic success, a friend left the band, explaining that music was secondary to him. To find like-minded people, Dan Balan arranged a casting. From a duo, the O-Zone group turned into a trio. And then she began to conquer the world rapidly.
In 2002, the first album of the newly formed band, Number 1, appeared. The musicians had high hopes for it, but success did not come immediately. It was necessary to change something and Dan began to experiment in different directions. The result of a long creative search was the single DiscO-Zone. It included the song Dragostea Din Tei, which brought the performers worldwide fame. It stayed at number 1 on the European chart for 17 weeks. The disc itself received the status of "platinum" and sold more than 3.5 million copies.
In 2005, Dan Balan decided to focus on his solo career. The famous band broke up. The rest of the participants also focused on their projects.
Solo career
In 2006, Dan Balan moved to America, where he recorded a solo album in the rock genre. Unfortunately, it never went on sale. In the same year, the artist took the stage name Crazy Loop and released a song with the same name. And at the end of 2007, the world saw his debut solo record The Power of Shower.
The musician's career developed at a fantastic rate, over the next couple of years he:
composed the song Live Your Life for Rihanna. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for this work. It was the most significant event in the singer's creative biography, which brought him worldwide fame.;
He presented his new record Crazy Loop Mix in his hometown, which includes all the compositions that he performed earlier;
He released 2 singles: Chica Bomb and Justify SEX, which blew up all the clubs and soared to the top of the authoritative Russian chart.
The success made the artist think about singing a song in Russian. In the autumn of 2010, the composition "Petals of Tears" was released, which Dan Balan performed together with Vera Brezhneva. This song once again claimed the first place in the Russian chart. The composition increased his recognition in the CIS countries and allowed him to achieve considerable success.
Personal life
With such a work schedule, Dan had almost no time for his personal life. This became the reason for rumors about his non-traditional orientation. However, there was no confirmation of this. The actor often got into the lenses in the arms of beauties, but did not tell anything about himself. There were girls in his life, but none of the relationships ended in marriage.
In 2017, when asked about starting a family, the artist replied that he was not ready for this yet. He is responsible for choosing a lover and the mother of future children, and therefore is in no hurry to make a final decision.

In 2017, the artist presented the second song "Our Summer" together with Brezhneva. In March 2018, the song Allegro Ventigo was announced on Instagram, which became a popular hit of the summer.
