Dima Bilan (Dima Bilan) - a famous singer and movie actor, the only winner of Eurovision from Russia, the leader of rotations and music charts, the owner of many awards and prizes. The story of his success is a vivid evidence that the impossible is really possible.
Vitya Belan's childhood
He was born on December 24, 1981 in a small town in Karachay-Cherkessia. The real name of the celebrity is Victor Belan. First he took a creative pseudonym, and in 2008 he officially legalized it. The name Dima was chosen for a reason. This was the name of the singer's grandfather, whom he loved very much and always regretted that he was not named after him.
The boy's parents were the most ordinary people, far from the world of art. His father worked as a mechanic, then an engineer. Mom was a social worker.
The boy's craving for music appeared in childhood. When he went to the 5th grade, his parents gave him to a music school, where he learned to play the accordion. Already at this time, Vitya participated in numerous competitions and even visited the festival "Chunga-Changa" in Moscow.
The first steps to fairy success
The first step on the way to success for Bilan was getting a diploma from the Gnessin Musical School, and then - the acting faculty of GITIS. While still a student, the young man met producer Yuri Aizenshpis. He instantly recognized the huge potential in the simple Kabardinian boy and offered to work together. By the way, it was Aizenshpis who recommended the young talent to take the pseudonym Dima Bilan.
The debut of the singer on stage took place in 2002. Dima, who presented at the festival "New Wave" in Jurmala composition "Boom", entered the top five. Immediately after the performance, a music video was shot for this song. Following it came other compositions with videos:
- "You, only you";
- "I made a mistake, I hit";
- "I'm a night hooligan."
The last of them became the title song in Dima Bilan's debut album, which was released in late 2003. The next year turned out to be very fruitful for the singer. He re-released the previous disk, and then presented to the public a new studio album "On the shore of the sky". Some of the songs from it became the basis for new video clips.
A year later Yuri Aizenshpis died. Dima immediately began to receive offers of cooperation from other producers and firms. After some doubts, he decided to break the contract with the company of his former mentor. In response, its management demanded to stop using the brand "Dima Bilan", declaring itself the sole owner. Together with the new team, which at that time was headed by Yana Rudkovskaya, the singer managed to resolve a difficult conflict and take the pseudonym as his official name.
The tandem with the new producer turned out to be very fruitful. Already by the end of 2005, he was honored with two "Golden Gramophones", then the awards sprinkled one after another. The artist becomes the singer of the year", the best performer, album, composition (for "The Impossible is Possible") are recognized in turn. In fact, every song that Bilan performs becomes a hit, which makes him even more famous and in demand.
"Eurovision".
For the first time to participate in the International contest, the singer decides back in 2005. But at the selection stage, he takes only the second place, the first goes to Natalia Podolskaya.
Exactly one year later, Dima Bilan still goes to "Eurovision" in Athens and takes second place with the song Never Let You Go. Only one representative from Russia - singer Alsu - was able to achieve such success before him.
But Dima decided not to give up. In 2 years after Athens, he again applies for participation in the national selection show, presents his new composition Believe to the audience and confidently bypasses all the contenders. This time he had to go to Belgrade.
Together with the famous figure skater Evgeny Plushenko and violinist from Hungary Edwin Marton, he gave the audience a great number and became the first and so far the only performer from Russia to win at Eurovision.
Such a significant achievement in the creative biography of the singer was appreciated. Dima Bilan was awarded the title of Honored and later - and People's Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria. The music school in the singer's homeland now bears his name.
At the peak of popularity
In the following years, Bilan continued to please fans with new songs. In 2009, his discography was enriched with the first English-language (and fifth studio) album called Believe. The disc was highly appreciated by fans and critics and brought Dima not only a well-deserved award, but also made him incredibly popular all over the world.
Giving a lot of time to music, Bilan tries himself in other genres: participates in various TV projects, one of which is the show "The Voice" (including the children's version), starring in movies, engaged in the hotel business.
Health problems forced the singer to step back a little and undergo a serious course of treatment. According to the singer himself, this difficult test forced a lot of rethinking and, of course, affected his creativity.
Personal life of the star
Today Dima Bilan continues to give concerts, go on tour, present to the public fresh songs and video clips, release new disks. Fans of the star actively follow his career, regularly studying news in the catalog of artists on the website kontramarka.de. Interest is also aroused by the singer's personal life, which the artist himself tries not to advertise.
For a long time, the media wrote about his affair with the famous model Elena Kuletskaya. Many thought that it was she who would become the wife of the famous singer, but the wedding never took place.
Of course, Elena is not the only contender for the role of Bilan's girlfriend. At different times he was attributed to the novel with model Julianna Krylova, performer Polina Gudieva, opera singer Julia Lima, other famous representatives of the fair sex. The singer himself calls all these relationships friendly and claims that he does not plan to have a family and children. At least not until he is 40 years old!
