Childhood years
Dmitry is a Muscovite, he was born on July 8, 1963. The mother of the future actor was a sports doctor, the father - a pentathlon coach. It was thanks to his parents that the boy from a young age joined the sport, comprehended the basics of horseback riding, practiced karate and judo.
On the acting career Dima Pevtsov in childhood did not even think. He was going to follow in the footsteps of his parents, intended to enter a pedagogical university at the faculty of physical education or biology. Life made its adjustments: a month after graduation, the guy had to work at a factory. But the genes inherited from his parents made themselves known: since 2001, Pevtsov began to be interested in racing sports. He even participated in official competitions in auto racing.
In the acting profession Dima got by chance. In 1980, his close friend was going to enter the theater college and offered Pevtsov also to submit documents - for the company. But only a friend at the exams failed, and Dmitry successfully passed them, becoming a student of GITIS.
Study was not long, a year later the young man was called into the army. But during his military service he was lucky enough to get into the Theater of the Soviet Army. There the guy combined useful with pleasant, developing his acting talents.
Career actor
In 1985, Pevtsov graduated from GITIS and went to work in the troupe of the Taganka Theater. And almost immediately received one of the leading roles in the play "At the Bottom". After a successful debut Pevtsov began to be invited to other projects, including in the sensational production of "Phaedra" directed by Roman Viktyuk.
Debut in the movie was a year later, when Dmitry played an episodic role in the movie "The End of the World followed by a symposium". The second picture in the track record of the artist was the drama "Mother", filmed on the work of Gorky. It is thanks to her novice actor was recognized by European critics and was awarded the prize "Felix".

Personal lifePevtsov is quite modest, not abundant with bright events. With his wife Olga Drozdova actor met in 1991. At that time he was already married, had a son Daniel (born in 1990). Encounter took place in a very unusual way. First, Dmitry invited Olga to see "Hamlet", where he played a leading role. And then she called him to evaluate her work in "Anfisa". A little later they had the opportunity to play together in the movie "A Walk on the Scaffold". After filming, which became a turning point for both, the young people broke their former relationship and soon married.
Children in the family for a long time was not, despite the mutual desire of the husband and wife. But still Olga managed to get pregnant, and in 2007 the couple had a son Elysei.
In August 2012 there was a terrible tragedy. Pevtsov's eldest son Daniel snapped from the balcony of a multi-storey building. For 9 days he was in the hospital, and then died. His death was a strong blow to the entire family of the Pevtsovs. Daniel was also an actor, and even managed to star together with his father and Olga, for whom he was like a native.
