Jigan

Jigan (Geegun) is a famous hip-hop singer, rapper and popular musician. Date of birth - August 2, 1985.

Childhood and teenage years

The rapper's real name is Denis Ustimenko-Vainshtein. He was born in Odessa in the family of a fisherman. The boy became interested in music very early, and his parents, noticing this interest of their son, encouraged him in every possible way. His father, who was often abroad, brought him a tape recorder and a couple of disks. Over time, the collection of records and cassettes grew to several thousand pieces. In his autobiography Denis notes how he enjoyed listening to music, singing along to celebrities and dreaming of writing his own song. This happened when the boy studied in the 9th grade. The presentation of the track was held in the school auditorium and made a real sensation among high school students, but the young talent seemed not enough, and he decided to try himself as a DJ. The idea was very successful: hip-hop parties that Denis held, very quickly became mega-popular, and famous MCs showed considerable interest.

It was at this time that the guy came up with the stage name "Jigan". The nickname GeeGun was formed from two parts. The first was taken by the name of the album of the famous rapper Ice-T, the second indicated the musician's considerable love for weapons.

Along with searching for his niche in the world of music, Denis was actively engaged in sports, giving preference to power martial arts - kickboxing, classical and Thai boxing. He took the hobby very seriously, so success did not take long. The young rapper became the champion of Ukraine in kickboxing, won several awards at competitions in Europe, founded a martial arts school for young people.

Development of his musical career

The beginning of his creative career was the cooperation with the popular RnB-group "Karpaty", and the first successful work - the track "We rest", which was later included in the album "Copies no". A little later Jigan recorded a composition and shot a music video in tandem with one of the best rappers of Ukraine XL Deluxe. The video hit the top 20 and stayed on the third line for several weeks. But the young musician was fully talked about after the release of the track "My Boys".

A turning point in the creative biography of the artist was his meeting with DJ DLEE, who introduced Denis to Timati. The cooperation of two outstanding personalities was very fruitful. Jigan became an artist of the music label Black Star Inc. and soon released his first track "Classmate", which was the result of their work with Timati.

No less bright were the singer's duets with:

• Yulia Savicheva ("Let Go");
• Zhanna Friske ("You are near");
• Stas Mikhailov ("Love-Drug").

In total, during his creative activity Jigan released 3 studio albums and one compilation.

In 2011, the artist gained new experience, starring in an episode of the third part of the sensational movie "Shadow Fight". A year later, he wrote the soundtrack to the movie "Bouncer" and performed it himself during filming.

A new stage in creativity

Jigan's biography made a new steep turn at the end of 2013: he announced his departure from Black Star Inc. and his intention to independently continue his creative path. Confirmation of the seriousness of his decision, the singer provided a few months later, presenting to the public a video clip "I need to pump up". Since then, his works come out with enviable constancy.

Despite the busyness, Jigan devotes a lot of time to his family. The personal life of the artist was successful, which is considered a great rarity in the world of show business. His wife became a model and the creator of a popular youth brand Oksana Samoylova. To date, the spouses bring up three children - daughters Ariela, Lea and Maya.
