Gennady Hazanov (Gennadiy Hasanov) is a Soviet and Russian pop artist, actor, TV presenter, public figure, long—term head of the Moscow Variety Theater. The frenzied popularity of this master of the conversational genre could be the envy of any modern stand-up comedian. The images he created in the cinema or on stage are loved by millions. Monologues and parodies are divided into quotations. The actor is in his eighties, but he still spends a lot of time on stage, in front of the audience and cameras.
Childhood and adolescence
The future celebrity was born on December 1, 1945 in Moscow. Gennady did not know his father. The boy's mother worked as an engineer, but all her life she dreamed of becoming an actress. In the evenings, she played on the stage of the national theater, which worked at the recreation center of the plant. Khazanov recalls how, as a child, he often waited for her backstage.
The boy really liked the theater. Soon he began to study in an amateur circle, performed at school evenings, parodied famous personalities, students and teachers.
Yielding to the insistence of his mother, who wanted to see his son on stage, Gennady went to study at a music school. He played the piano diligently, but he was not at all attracted to a career as a musician. The boy liked watching the performances of the famous Arkady Raikin much more. Gennady memorized his monologues, copied his manners and voice, dreamed of becoming like him. At the age of 14, the teenager came to the concert of the meter and met him personally. Arkady Isaakovich was so moved by the admiring speech and delight in the guy's eyes that he ordered Khazanov to be given a subscription to his concerts.
Acquaintance with Raikin further strengthened Gennady's desire to become an actor. To bring his dream closer, he transferred to evening school and went to work at a factory. The solution was explained simply. Secondary schools at that time were transferred to an eleven-year education, and in the evening it was possible to get a certificate after the 10th grade.
After completing his studies, Gennady applied to all theatrical universities in the capital, but he was not accepted anywhere. Having listened to the advice of Alexander Shirvindt, Khazanov tried to enroll in a circus school. But they didn't take him there either. Gennady was forced to go to study at the construction institute.
At the university, Khazanov became interested in playing KVN, began to participate in productions, where for the first time he tried on the image of a shy student of a culinary college. MISI's studio often performed concerts, and the audience always greeted the appearance of this character Gennady on stage with stormy applause. A year later, the young man left MISI and still entered the circus school.
Creative activity
After graduation, Khazanov began working as an entertainer in the orchestra of the famous Leonid Utesov. Then he moved to Mosconcert, where he tried almost all roles — from clowning to parody. The last idea turned out to be very successful. During his time on stage, Khazanov performed many sparkling parodies of celebrities, but real success came to him as an artist of the conversational genre.
In 1974, Gennady took part in the All-Union competition, where, presenting Altov's monologue "The Prize" and several parodies to the jury, he won the title of laureate. This event became the starting point of his creative biography. Khazanov was talked about as a talented entertainer. After the "culinary college student" was shown in one of the TV shows, the comedian woke up famous all over the country.
In a short period of time, the artist became a star, a true master of reprise. His monologues "Parrot", "Dream", "Cat", which forever entered the golden fund of Russian humor, were listened to in all corners of the country. The audience enjoyed going to his performances.
In 1978, Khazanov presented to the public the first solo performance "The Little Things of Life", consisting of the most popular miniatures. It was followed by a second production, called "The Obvious and the Incredible." Her premiere was a great success. Despite this, after 3 years the play was banned from showing, because censorship saw a sharp satirical subtext in the artist's monologues. Khazanov himself disappeared from television screens for a long time and was forced to perform at private concerts.
The failures did not break the artist. Some time later, he staged the play "Favorites", a year later — "Small tragedies ...". At the same time, the comedian founded the variety group "MONO".
Khazanov's dramatic talent turned out to be no less vivid. His debut in this field was Sergei Yursky's play "The Players". The premiere of the production, which took place on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater, was a great success. For many theatergoers, the name of Gennady Khazanov on the poster came as a complete surprise. The entertainer, the parodist — in Gogol's play! However, the actor brilliantly coped with the role of Dergunov.
In 1997, Khazanov became the artistic director of the Variety Theater. He holds this position to this day, continuing to play in several productions. The artist also cooperates with other theaters. Among his recent works are:
"Rescuers";
"A false note";
The roller coaster.
In addition to the theater, Khazanov successfully starred in films. His filmography includes about 20 films and TV series, including "The Little Giant of Big Sex", "Juna", "Cops and Thieves", "My Beautiful Nanny". In addition, Khazanov starred in "Yeralash" more than once, voiced a number of cartoons. The most famous of them is about the adventures of Kesha the parrot.
Gennady Viktorovich often appears on television. At various times, he was the host of "Family Verdict", a participant in the talk show "To the barrier!", a member of the jury of KVN and other Channel One projects.
Among other things, Khazanov is engaged in public activities, participates in the political life of the country, and teaches at the RATI. His achievements in the development of Russian culture and art have been awarded many awards.
Personal life
Gennady Viktorovich is happy with his personal life, considers his family to be the main support. The actor has been married for 50 years. His wife Zlata not only supports her husband in everyday life, but is also his manager, as well as engaged in her own business projects.
They met at the theater studio of the Moscow State University "Our House", began dating and soon got married, despite the objections of the bride's mother. They immediately thought about the children. Like many men, Khazanov dreamed of an heir, but a girl was born, who was named Alice.
The daughter has always been the pride of her parents. She studied well at school, graduated with honors from the choreographic college, and danced at the Bolshoi Theater for 8 years. After being injured, Alice left the stage and got a job as a teacher in a dance studio. She is currently building her film career and raising two daughters.
Gennady Viktorovich loves his grandchildren very much, tries to spend as much time with them as possible, but he also does not forget about work. All details about his creative plans can be found in our catalog of artists on the website kontramarka.de .
