"A'Studio" (A'Studio) is one of the oldest pop groups of the Russian variety, which for more than 30 years has managed to preserve its originality, originality, and demand. The band members follow the modern musical direction, are not afraid to experiment, boldly combine styles and at the same time do not lose their inherent flavor. They have excellent taste and exotic beauty, which allows them to stand out against the background of other performers.
Creation of the band
The history of the band dates back to 1982. The formation of A'Studio took place in the Kazakh stage of the city of Alma-Ata. Popular at that time singer Roza Rymbayeva performed under the accompaniment of talented young musicians, who were called "Arai". Among them was Baigali Serkebayev. After the disintegration of the first composition of the Kazakh group, he gathered the best instrumentalists of the country into one team (Tahir Ibragimov, Najib Vildanov, Sergey Almazov, Batyrkhan Shukenov, Vladimir Mikloshich). They continued to collaborate with Rymbayeva, recorded three vinyl albums, received many awards and national recognition.
But at one point the musicians became "cramped" in the accompanying lineup. They wanted to create their own project. In 1987, young, talented and full of enthusiasm, they set off on a "free voyage". The basis of the collective were the members of the group "Arai". In the future there were periodically minor changes in the composition.
They called themselves "Alma-Ata" and a year later released their debut record "The Way Without Stopping". Then they changed the name slightly and became "Alma-Ata Studio". The musical style in which they performed is difficult to attribute to one genre. In their work was jazz and funk, which skillfully intertwined with folk Kazakh motifs.
In 1989, the group recorded their first real hit "Julia". Philip Kirkorov helped to promote this composition. Vladimir Presnyakov, in turn, also played a big role in popularizing the future A'Studio. He organized a meeting with primadonna Alla Pugacheva, in whose theater they agreed to perform.
From this moment began an active phase in the creative biography of the collective. It was renamed A'Studio, developed its own unique style. And after participating in the TV program "Christmas Meetings" in 1990, the band members literally woke up as celebrities.
Creative path
Gradually conquering the public, the artists in 2000 went on tour to America. There their good comrade and famous producer Greg Walsh introduced the guys to the charming Pauline Griffis. At that time, the team was in danger of disintegration, as they were left by the lead singer Batyrkhan Shukenov.
The appearance of a girl in the male collective was perceived in two ways. On the one hand, it was a chance to save the group, on the other hand, it was perceived as "the appearance of a woman on the ship". The guys took Paulina in, and the band entered a new stage of creativity.
With the arrival of Griffis the band's musical style changed. The new vocalist, perfectly aware of modern trends, insisted on more danceable motifs. She strived to create compositions that would win over a wide audience. And she did not miss.
For less than four years of Pauline Griffis in the "A'Studio" the group became very popular, the musicians gave dozens of concerts, for a long time their hits were kept on the top positions of music charts. A separate asset is considered to be the output in rotation of European channels (the composition "S.O.S" was the leader of dance ratings around the world). Many famous DJs had remixes of their songs, and in clubs no disco was without A'Studio compositions.
In 2005 Polina left A'Studio. But the soloist's place did not remain vacant for long. Griffis was replaced by a young and no less talented Katie Topuria. She was an unknown singer with a bright Georgian appearance, Italian roots, powerful vocals. The girl with all her attractiveness, charisma, fresh energy and inexhaustible potential plunged into work.
With the emergence of a new member of the group came another wave of popularity. For the first time the public was able to hear her voice with the release of the song "Flying away". The composition instantly became a hit. Katy's amazing vocals and energy led to the fact that "Flying away" was recognized as "Song of the Year" in 2005. Not a bad start, was it?
After the release of the studio album of the same name, which was one of the most successful in the musicians' creative work, the Georgian girl on the background of Kazakh men looked marvelous. Thanks to such a successful tandem, in 2007 they were awarded the Fashion TV People Awards as the most stylish band.
In 2012 "A'Studio" celebrated its 25th anniversary. In its honor, a big concert in the Kremlin was organized, which resulted in the release of a separate album called "Concert in the Kremlin 25 years".
Such facts speak about the cult of this collective: for 30 years of its existence 17 studio albums were released, more than 30 clips were shot, the musicians' performances were held on the best stages of Russia, Europe, Asia and America. A special niche in the band's creative work is occupied by projects with other performers. A'Studio recorded compositions with Soso Pavliashvili, Emin, Thomas Nevergreen, "Otpetyami Rascals", CENTR.
A'Studio celebrated its last 30th anniversary with a big bang - it gave a number of concerts in Crocus City Hall, went on tour to the homeland (12 performances in Astana).
Today the artists continue to create. They do not stand still, follow fashion trends, modify their style, try themselves in different directions.
