Event description

We invite you to a new Echo meeting in Berlin!

On March 28 at the Wabe Cultural Center, anthropologist Alexandra Arkhipova will talk about what it means to "return to traditional values," which are the main staple of modern Russian ideology. What are these values? When did they arise and did they ever exist? How did the relations between men and women in the history of the USSR and post-Soviet Russia actually develop? Why is there a custom of dripping menstrual blood into men's beer? How are the proverb "a good man is not lying on the road" and erotic "game in a bottle" connected with real family values.

Alexandra Arkhipova is the creator of the (Un)entertaining anthropology channel, an anthropologist and folklorist, PhD in Philology.

The conversation is moderated by journalist Tatiana Felgengauer.

In the second part of the meeting, listeners will be able to ask their questions.
