The name of Alexey Ivashchenko (New York) is well known not only to fans of author's songs - he feels equally at ease in various genres, from musical to jazz. Alexey is the author of many popularly loved songs (both in co-authorship with Georgy Vasiliev and solo), a guitarist with his own special, recognizable style, co-writer and co-director of the musical NORD-OST, producer and actor of the musical "OBYKNOVENNOvNoe Miracle", author of Russian lyrics for the musicals "Sounds of Music", "The Phantom of the Opera", "SINGING ON THE RAIN", "RUSALOCHKA", "SHAKHMATS" and many others. His voice is spoken in Russian by many foreign actors - Hugh Grant, Robin Williams, Daniel Day-Lewis and even Bruce Willis.

Back in the late 70's - early 80's of the last century, the work of Alexei Ivashchenko and Georgy Vasiliev exploded the usual style of author's song. They were among the first to use complex harmonies and unusual guitar playing techniques in this genre - until now amateur guitarists break their heads and fingers trying to pick up their songs. And at the turn of the century they also turned the usual ideas about the musical genre upside down, having written and staged the musical "NORD-oST" - the first performance in Russia, which went on stage every day for a year.
