Anton Batagov is a composer, pianist, and sound artist. One of the most significant and iconic figures in the world of new classical music.

In the 21st century he is already recognized as one of the "living classics" of new music, and his innovative approach to the performance of early and classical music is unparalleled. In his work there is virtually no boundary between the concepts of "composition" and "performance", and any layers of sound culture - from ancient ritual practices to rock/pop music and virtual technologies - are organically woven into a single whole.

Batagov plays unique solo concert programs, performs in major halls in Russia, Europe and America, and collaborates with such artists as Philip Glass, Lucinda Childs, Theodore Kurentzis, Vladimir Jurowski, Boris Grebenshchikov and Yangchen Lhamo. Batagov's new albums and premieres of his compositions become landmark events every time. His discography numbers about 60 albums, and musicology articles and dissertations are written about his work. It is incorrect to say that Batagov crosses aesthetic boundaries: they simply do not exist.

"Anton Batagov is a mystic at the piano. Half shaman, half showman. Under his fingers another world opens up, another level of energy of the spirit, another way of listening." (Time out New York)

"Batagov overturns our ideas of what a piano music concert is" (The Gathering note).

"His playing transcends the material world" (Crescendo magazine).
