"The Charming Egoist" - a work by Jean Cocteau, written for Édith Piaf and her lover Paul Meurisse. It is the story of a couple that becomes timeless thanks to Cocteau's talent. 

He and she. His indifference and her passion, his steadfastness and her madness, his lies and her hope. A vicious circle from which there seems to be no escape. But each of us decides for ourselves how the story will end.

There is always a choice: to betray oneself or to choose oneself. A deceptive love - but at what price?
