Poems help out in times when prospects are not visible. No matter how hard I try, I can’t write a novel now. And in order to write better, one more condition is needed - a feeling of the greatness of the moment being experienced. Now everything has become unusually sharp: love, involvement in a big story, and, perhaps, some doom.

"Now everyone writes a lot: graphomaniacs, refugees, Ukrainians in the trenches, and Russians in exile. I wrote two books of poetry in two years. Since I express myself more fully and freely in them than in prose, I want to share them. Whoever writes poetry is no longer alone,” says Dmitry Bykov.
