Event description

Sleeping Beauty, one of the most famous works of ballet literature and a wonderful children's fairy tale. Danced by the International Festival Ballet, they tell the fabulous story based on the fairy tale "La belle au bois dormant" by Charles Perrault, which was first performed as a ballet in 1890 with music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa. The impressive féerie of beauty, elegance and grace, combined with breathtaking costumes, a truly royal stage set and the unique passion of the dancers of the "International Festival Ballet", transports the audience in an impressive way into the fairytale world of fantasies and dreams. A perfect work of art accompanied by a live orchestra.

Sleeping Beauty was a beautiful child,... It will be a fairytale world of fairies, princes and a beautiful girl, as the ballet ensemble of the International Festival Ballet presents the fabulous story of one of the most popular children's fairytales of our time - Sleeping Beauty. Originally known in Germany as a tale by the Brothers Grimm, the story of the young girl who is cursed by an evil fairy and can only be saved with the kiss of true love was adapted as a ballet and premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1890. To this day, Sleeping Beauty remains one of the most popular ballets and is now part of the standard international repertoire of classical ballet. The Sleeping Beauty ballet was created in close collaboration between Peter I. Tchaikovsky and Marius Petipa, probably the most important choreographer of the 19th century. Its formal perfection and highly developed choreographic and musical expression fascinate the discerning connoisseur; thanks to its fairytale-like immediacy and theatrical splendor, the Sleeping Beauty ballet also delights a wide audience. In addition, the grandiose stage design by the brilliant theater designer Vjatscheslav Okunev, who has worked for the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and La Scala in Milan, among others, beautiful costumes and the boundless elegance and light-heartedness.

The combination of dancing perfection, musical brilliance and visual opulence makes the performance of Sleeping Beauty an unforgettable experience for young and old alike. The interplay of the fascinating costumes, the lively music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the virtuoso choreography by Marius Petipa brings the fairytale world to life on stage. Every dance step, every musical chord and every set element is carefully thought out and contributes to the magical atmosphere of the ballet. With every turn and leap, the International Festival Ballet transports its audience into a world of magic and beauty that blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy. The timeless story of Sleeping Beauty is presented in this production with such dedication and sophistication that it still touches and enchants the hearts of audiences decades later.
