Event description

Participate:

We invite you to the annual Christmas meeting of "Ekho" in Berlin on January 6 with the participation of political scientist Ekaterina Shulman and literary critic Armen Zakharyan. The moderator is journalist and editor Maxim Kurnikov.
This time the topic of the evening will be the legends about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Where do these stories originate, how have they been transformed over the centuries and why do they continue to be relevant? What is their contribution to world literature, and why do we still turn to these images in search of meaning?

Armen Zakharyan will talk about the cultural and literary aspects of legends, their origins and significance for world literature. What role did these stories play in the literature of different epochs and countries, and why do they remain important for understanding universal values?
Catherine Shulman will examine the Arthurian legends through the prism of contemporary culture. What do these stories tell us about power, ideals, and politics? Why does the Arthurian myth continue to be of interest not only to researchers, but also to the general public?

In the second part of the evening, speakers will answer questions from the audience.

Seating is free and not dependent on ticket price. If you want to support Echo, you can choose a more expensive ticket.

The event will be held in Russian.
