Event description

"Echo" invites to a screening of films by animator and director Garri Bardin. On April 2, four of Bardin's works will be presented in Berlin, including the premiere of the animated feature "Crying for All Time." After the screening, the author will take part in a teleconference discussion with moderator Maxim Kurnikov.

The evening in Berlin will feature the films:

  • "Listening to Beethoven" (2015), an animated film about the triumph and greatness of freedom.
  • "Bolero-17" (2018) - a picture about the choice between freedom and unfreedom.
  • "Hail, Mary!" (2023) - a story about fidelity to self, told to the music of Schubert.
  • Premiere: "Lament for All Seasons" (2025) - a movie about the Jewish people who "live in defiance."

Garry Bardin is an animation director, screenwriter and producer, winner of five Nika Awards, the Palme d'Or at Cannes and other honors. He is known for his innovative approach to animation, using plasticine, wire, paper, matches and other unconventional materials. Some of his best-known works include "Flying Ship," "Vykrutasy," "Conflict" and "Adagio."

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director. The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions.
