Masha Mashkova. The play "Nadezhdiny" in Berlin from 27 to 30 May 2024

A love story set against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution in the acclaimed play The Nadezhdins.

Yevgeny Nadezhdin is a young exiled revolutionary, intellectual and uncompromising publicist, an associate and main opponent of Vladimir Lenin, destroyed by the Soviet regime and deliberately forgotten by his contemporaries.

His beloved Melania Sevruk is the great-grandmother of the famous actress and rising Hollywood star Masha Mashkova ("Limonov" by K. Serebrennikov, "For All Mankind", I.S.S., etc.).

An incredible story developing against the backdrop of the collapse of the Empire formed the basis of the performance.

On stage, Mashkova resurrects the dramatic events of the past, which strikingly echo today. Nadezhdin's voice in the performance belongs to another star of theatre and cinema, Anatoly Belom.

Frenzied dynamics, a lot of director's tricks, special effects, shadow theatre, animation, film projection. The feeling that on the stage is not one actress, but a whole troupe.
