Event description

"Down On The Street", "Mr. Manic & Sister Cool", "Night Birds" and more - live in autumn 2025!

Shakatak are going on a major tour to celebrate their 45th anniversary and present their fans with the best songs from their unmistakable mix of soft pop, jazz and funk.

In 2025, the British Shakatak celebrate 45 years on stage and mark this milestone with a Very Best Of album and an anniversary tour that also stops in Germany. The concerts are a feast for all lovers of the melodic lounge sound that made Shakatak world-famous between 1981 and 1987 with hits such as "Easier Said Than Done", "Night Birds", "Invitations", "Dark Is The Night", "Down On The Street", "Watching You" and "Mr. Manic & Sister Cool".

Shakatak will be performing on stage in their original line-up:

  • Bill Sharpe - piano, keyboards
  • Jill Saward - lead vocals, flute
  • George Anderson - bass
  • Roger Odell - drums
  • Keith Winter - guitar

With a program lasting around 90 minutes, the band, which was founded in 1980, draws from the full and shows why it has been in such demand on international stages for four and a half decades.

Visitors to their concerts can only confirm what was already written in the magazine of the world-famous Ronnie Scott's Club: "The music of Shakatak sparkles today just as it did when you first heard it. This band is more than just a band - their songs are the soundtrack to many people's lives."
