Event description

A summer hit that got the whole of Europe dancing last year comes from Milan: with "Italodisco", The Kolors not only conquered the clubs, but also delivered one of the most streamed dance tracks of the year. The song delivers exactly what its title promises: synthesizers in constant use, a pulsating bassline, driving drum machines and a melody that immediately burns itself into the memory. Then there are the distinctive vocals, which evoke memories of the golden era of Italo disco - the times when Righeira played on beach playlists and Giorgio Moroder ruled the dance floors.

But "Italodisco" is far more than a nostalgic homage to summer vacations and beach parties. It is the latest proof that The Kolors are one of the most exciting acts on the Italian pop scene. The band around frontman and guitarist Antonio "Stash" Fiordispino, bassist Dario Iaculli and drummer Alex Fiordispino has its origins in the Milan underground scene. They celebrated their big breakthrough in 2015 when they won the 14th season of the successful TV talent show Amici. Their debut album Out made Italian chart history: five times platinum, a whole year in the charts and twelve weeks uninterrupted at number one - a record that still stands today.

Since then, the band has delivered hit after hit. With their second album You and tracks such as the platinum-crowned "Italodisco", they have finally catapulted themselves to the top of the new Italian pop scene. Their sound is a rousing mixture of funk, disco, euphoric vocals and occasional rap interludes - an unmistakable world of sound that combines casual groove with danceable ease.

Her latest single "Un Ragazzo Una Ragazza" was released in February - and of course went platinum straight away - and promises great things for the coming months. In March, fans in Germany will be able to see the band's energy live when The Kolors finally go on tour. This is Italo pop 2.0 - nostalgic, modern and above all irresistible.
