Event description

Julia Varshavskaya is a journalist, presenter, and social activist in the field of gender equality.

A year ago Julia launched a series of columns "Women's History of Emigration" in Spektr.Press magazine, where she talks about how women in the era of white emigration in 1917-20s found themselves in Europe, the USA, Brazil and China. Moving to new countries dramatically changed their destinies. Many built philanthropic projects and contributed to world science. Others supported the expatriate community and preserved their culture abroad. Among her heroines are Zinaida Gippius, Ida Rubinstein, Nadezhda Taffy, Vera Giedroyts, Zinaida Serebryakova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Tamara Karsavina and others. Julia will talk about them in her lecture and clearly show how their story is in tune with what women experience today.

You can purchase a standard ticket or a ticket with dinner* in the company of Julia Varshavskaya after the lecture. Seating is limited.
*the price includes ticket and dinner (meal + drink).
