Friedrich-Ebert-Halle Hamburg

Friedrich-Ebert-Halle - the Friedrich Ebert Hall was built in 1929 according to the design of the architect Otto Kleeberg and officially opened on January 15, 1930. The symmetrical building consists of a hall and two side wings, which house the Friedrich Ebert Gymnasium. The hall seats about 1,100 visitors.

The Friedrich Ebert Hall is a place with a rich history: In June 1961, the Beatles recorded their first record, “My Bonnie,” in the basement, and in the 1960s, many television programs with Peter Frankenfeld were broadcast from the hall. The concert of the punk band Dead Kennedys in the 80s is still a legend today. The band's fans went into a rage and destroyed the hall, so after that it had to be completely reconstructed. These days are now over for Friedrich-Ebert-Halle. Today its program is dominated by classical music concerts, but also cabarets and comedies.

Since 1930 - and the hall was only recently opened - the musical community of Harburg has been offering a high-quality concert program there. Three Hamburg orchestras - the State Philharmonic Orchestra, the NDR Symphony Orchestra and the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra - regularly perform in the hall on tour.

In 2014, the hall underwent a comprehensive reconstruction in accordance with its status as an architectural monument, the ventilation systems, sound and lighting equipment were updated.

Seating: 1,107 numbered seats, of which 778 in the hall and 329 on the balcony.
